New York deer hunting season is divided into
two zones, the northern zone and the southern
zone. A single hunting license is good for both zones. However, the
deer hunting seasons are different for each zone. Our cottages are located in the
Northern zone. Parts of the Southern zone are just south of the Salmon
River just 8 miles south of our cottages. Click
here for WMU map with northern and southern zone boundary. We hunt the northern zone.
The seasons are longer and they start earlier affording us the luxury of some
really comfortable deer hunting weather. 2010
